Advisors on the sale of Polymita Technologies to the American multinational Red Hat, world leader in Open Source technology
Polymita Technologies is a start-up founded in Barcelona in 2002 by Erik Brieva and Luis Ignacio Cortes, specialized in software and business process management solutions-BPM which allows business users to become agents of change in their organisations. The company is considered to be situated in Gartner’s magic quadrant “as a visionary company”.
Red Hat is an American world-leading company in Open Source technology and Linux Provider, with more than 3,200 employees and a turnover of 1.3 billion dollars when the transaction was materialized.
The main objective of the transaction was to add Polymita’s powerful technology to Red Hat’s portfolio, enabling the Polymita Cloud system to be enhanced in the international market and maintaining 100% of its workforce.
Craig Muzilla, vice president and general manager of middleware at Red Hat, stated: “The ability to change quickly is a necessity for business in today’s business environment. Organisations that do not provide facilities for users to quickly and efficiently modify their automated business processes lose the power to remain agile, competitive and relevant.”
On the other hand, Josep Pere Gutiérrez, principal advisor of the transaction, emphasized: “The acquisition process was very competitive from the beginning, taking into account the large number of multinational companies interested in adopting Polymita’s technology and talent, being finally Red Hat the chosen company.”
o Working directly with the management team of Polymita Technologies. From the initial phase of the transaction, search for possible targets, the reception of offers and the selection of the different candidates with whom to carry out the transactions, until the closing of the operation with Red Hat.
